Happy Independence Day!

This morning we got up a bit early for a day off but for good reason. We were meeting our Life Group at one of our member's houses for breakfast. Everything was delicious and there seemed to be a never ending spread different foods to have. We ate and talked and hung out for a while before going home. Peter and I got our things together and we drove the girls over to Christina and Noah's house where they were having a BBQ later on. Before it was time for more good food Tina and I had an appointment with the girls to get pedicures and manicures. The girls had never been to a nail salon before but they always asked us if they could come when Tina and I went to get our nails done. For their birthdays they decided that rather than having a birthday party they would be able to go and have both their toenails and their fingernails done with Aunt Tina and I. Both, Bresa and Abbi, were very excited that the day had finally come and when we got to the salon they took their time picking the perfect colors for the nails. We got to soak our feet in our own hot tubs and then we had our own technicians come and pamper us thoroughly. The girls were very interested in all the steps that were done and Bresa must have asked 100 questions (this is not unusual). Once we were all prettied up with shiny new polish on all our nails we went back to Tina's for dinner. They had a lot of guests over for the BBQ and we enjoyed seeing old friends and met new ones too. Dinner was wonderful and very filling and when the sun finally set we took the girls outside (Javan was at Grandma's) to light our own sparklers and see the beautiful display of fireworks above the tree line. When it was time to get going we stopped to pick up Javan and drop Bresa off to spend a week at Grandma's (for her birthday) and headed home.
