Firetruck Driver
Today Javan and Daddy came to visit me at work since they were in the area. So long as they were there I figured I could show Javan the firetrucks in the bay. When we came around the corner we were pleased to find that the Tower Truck was out. We walked up to it and Firefighter Bruce came around and asked Javan if he wanted to get in. Javan, I think, was a bit intimidated by the size of the truck. His little toys are much smaller so I think the size was a bit scary. He didn't want to get in but I made him anyway. Then Bruce asked if Javan wanted to drive the truck. Javan said no but again, I made him anyway. He sat up in the driver's seat and played with the wheel until he remembered he was scared. Bruce then showed us all around the truck and inside every little compartment. He told us all about what everything was for and what it did. Then he asked Javan if he wanted to ride in the truck while he pulled it up in the bay. Javan said no and I didn't make him this time we just stood back and watched. We looked around the bay a bit at the ambulances and the really old firetruck that had a hand crank siren (Javan really liked that). When I got home Javan said, "I want to see the firetruck" and pointed outside. I apologized and told him that I didn't drive the firetruck home which he wasn't too happy about. He went on and on about the "ladder truck" and told me that he drove it and it was loud. Silly boy, I am glad he was excited about it after he was far enough away to forget about how huge it was.
