Bresa and Abbi's Birthday Party
Several weeks ago we started discussing what the girls wanted to do for their birthday party this year. Peter and I decided that since we didn't have much money and we still have lots of things to do on the house that the girls would have a combined party again to help save a little cash. We offered them some ideas, Abbi was pretty open to anything, Bresa really wanted to have a party that cost a ton of money. Not that she wanted to spend a lot of money but everything she suggested would have been a small fortune. I asked them about renting a bounce house or water slide and doing a house party and then I asked them about having the party at BounceU where they have rooms of a bunch of different inflatable bounce houses and slides. They went back and forth and ultimately I decided we would do the BounceU thing. With their birthdays in the summer we are always at risk for rain outside and it is always really hot. This way, we may be paying a little bit more, but we can be inside in the AC and we wouldn't have to use our own water or worry about people coming in and out of the house and cleaning up. With the party at BounceU everything would be handled for us I just had to give them the information to make the party perfect for our girls. As the day drew nearer I was really happy that we had decided to go this route because with me on bed rest throwing a party for a bunch of children would have been way too much for me to handle. The girls each were allowed to invite 5 friends and then I invited a few extras too. I had added a bundle to the package so that the we would get pizza, drinks, cake, cupcakes, balloons, party favors and few other things. Again, so happy I didn't have to manage all that. When we arrived for the party we had an issue arise. I had reserved the 4:20 spot but when they had put it in the computer they had put it in for the 3:00 spot and had booked another party for 4:20. After a strong discussion with the manager we decided that we would wait about an hour and then have our party with a severe discount. The manager worked with us and gave all the kids a ton of free tokens to play all the games they had in the lobby, then she said they could join the free bounce session that was going on in another room until our room was available for the party. So basically, the kids got an extra hour of bouncing and in the end all we had to pay for was the bundle and not the party portion at all. It was great and so much cheaper than anything we could have done at home. The kids bounced for about 2.5 hours and then we moved to the other party room where we ate and opened gifts. They used a lot of energy today and Javan fell asleep on the way home. The girls and all the other guests said they had a great time.
