Last Day

Today is our last day here in VA before we head home tomorrow. After being in the house for the last two days I was ready to get out and apparently I wasn't the only one who felt that way. Although we didn't really want to do the Black Friday Christmas Shopping we decided to join the crowds just so we weren't cooped up inside any longer. We started off at Target in the morning and went around to a couple other stores in the stripmall. Peter and I actually bought a few presents for the kids and our White Elephant gift exchanges we do with various groups. After the early shopping we went back the house for some lunch and attempted to get Javan to take a nap. He didn't seem to be in there long before I heard him calling which was fine because we had some afternoon plans. We all loaded up in the van again and headed to the nearby mall to watch Toy Story 3 at the cheap theater. The girls were very excited because they had wanted to see the movie since it had come out months ago. We had heard good things and they were all true, the movie was great and I was glad that we had bought a couple copies ealier at Target for $13 (shhh, don't tell the girls). After the movie we explored the mall and got Bresa a couple more books for the ride home (she had finished two of her Junie B Jones books on the car ride up). Santa had arrived at the mall too and there was no line so when the girls asked if they could see him we decided it was a good time to go. They both told Santa what they wanted and after Tyler got a turn too Heather got a picture of all of them with Santa. By the time we left it was dark out and time for dinner. We all decided to go over to Friendly's where we enjoyed a nice dinner and ice cream dessert. A wonderful end out to our great trip in VA. We had a good time but we were looking forward to getting home to our own beds tomorrow. Thank you so much Steve and Heather for all your hospitality! We always enjoy coming to see you and getting to hang out and spend time with you. We will miss you when we return home!
