More Change

Peter and I have been in our current Life Group for about 14 months. We love everyone in it but as coaches over Life Groups we were called to help start a new group in Sanford. We had been working on a couple to step up and be leaders in that area and we found another couple to host the meetings at their house. Since the leaders were new to this type of work Peter and I said we would come along and “salt” them. The idea is pretty exciting but it is also bittersweet as we now had to meet with our current leaders (who happen to be the church’s lead pastor and his wife) to let them know we were leaving their group. We had a nice breakfast with them and we were all excited about the new life group because it was expanding our church’s area and hopefully we will be able to spread the word of truth to the new area. However, we knew that our next task of telling our current Life Group would be a bit harder because not everyone is caught up in the vision of the church and is resistant to change. It just so happened that our next meeting was going to be a social time to celebrate the completion of Easter and all the work that went into the previous 40 days. At this meeting we all gathered around and Peter explained why we were leaving that that this would be our last meeting with them. It went well but there were some tears but also some really good prayers and I know we are doing the right thing by moving on to a new group. The pictures are of the children and Peter playing. Peter was trying to explain physics to the kids on how weights and distances make a difference in finding a balance. Not sure he got through to them but they all had fun nonetheless.
