&t The Taylor Family: Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day!

Because of me being on bed rest we hadn't made any real plans for the 4th of July. Our friends, Joe and Jana, asked if we wanted to hang out and that sounded a lot better than staying inside all day. In the morning we did some normal house stuff. Peter fixed our washer machine
so that it would spin the clothes better and drain completely after a cycle. This saved us a few hundred dollars in repair bills as our machines cost a hundred or so just to have someone come take a look at them. After we ate some lunch I packed up some snacks and drinks and we went over to Joe and Jana's community pool where we met up with them. The kids ran off and played and swam for hours and us adults just hung out and talked. Jana had made cookies earlier
so the kids had fun decorating their own and we ordered pizza and snacked on a veggie tray, some fruit and chips. It was so nice to just sit outside and relax while the kids wore themselves out (hopefully). Joe and Jana were going to walk down to Gemini Springs Park to watch the firework display but I knew I couldn't walk that far (about a mile) and Javan definitely wouldn't have been able to walk back after all was said and done. So we packed up again and headed home where we watched a Star Wars movie as a family and then saw some fireworks
from the second story of our house out the huge picture window in the back. Peter and I were very happy we didn't have to fight off the traffic from the park and that we didn't have to deal with cranky children if we had walked. They were pretty exhausted from all their swimming earlier.
