A month of Disney

Bresa went to the Magic Kindom a couple weeks ago with Miss Kim for her birthday, well I found out I had Memorial Day off and I felt bad that Abbi didn't get to go to Disney too so my mom and I took the girls last Monday. We really thought it was going to be super crowded and very hot but it actually turned out to be beautiful weather and we didn't have to wait in line for a thing. Everything we wanted to go on we pretty much just walked right on to. We even caught the parade with a front row seat after only waiting a couple minutes once we decided to watch it. I use to hate the parades as a kid because I wanted to go on all the rides but now that I have the girls it just seems so magical again. They get so excited to see the princesses and when they get a kiss or a wave or even just eye contact from they they just go nuts! I don't usually watch the parade too much because I am busy watching the expressions on the girls faces. Anyhow, I spoke with my sister, Janell, and she and Wyatt were going to go to Hollywood Studios (formally MGM) to ride the new Toy Story ride and she asked us to come along. We packed up the girls and met them in front of the park at 9am and started our day of fun. Once again we were surprised by the lack of crowds and how little wait time all the rides were. The Toy Story ride was open to the public for the first time on Saturday and we probably didn't even wait 15 minutes and we rode it twice. After exhausting the Studios we headed over to Epcot so Peter could ride the new Soarin ride that he hadn't been on yet. We did a few other things and tried to stay cooled off inside since the heat outside today was unbearable. The girls got to see some characters and have their autograph books signed and pictures taken. Janell has a Disney credit card so we got a private visit with Mickey and Pluto, that was great. Peter got to ride a Segway and said it was a lot of fun. My mom got the girls into the pin trading thing they have at Disney so all day long we swapped out pins with the cast members and the girls ended up with a bunch of nice pins that they picked just themselves. Peter had a concert to go to at Hardrock with a friend who got him a ticket so Peter left the park and the girls and I went home with Janell and Wyatt until the concert was over. It was a very long day but we had a great time and really enjoyed hanging out with Janell and Wyatt again. Thanks for a great day!!

Update on Donna

Donna saw the oncologist today after the results of the CAT scan of the lungs and the Kidney scan. One of the tumors in the lung is a bit smaller , but there is a new one. There is a spot on the liver but he didn't address that too much.
His recommendation, which she will follow is, going to a hospital in DC for a very aggressive form of treatment. Her doctor says the best doctor for the treatment is there. It is called HDIL (if anyone is interested) . Her doctor says that she is young enough to withstand the treatment as it will make her very, very sick. She will be there for 10 days, out for a week and then back for another 10 days. There is a 5% cure rate with this treatment and with the power of prayer she could be 1 of the 5
We are fortunate to have relatives in the DC area so there will be family around. She will probably stay with one of them for the week she is out rather than make a trip home and then back. So the next leg of the journey begins and as always we place our faith, hope and love in HIM.

Bring on the Corn

Peter and I took the girls to the Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival during the day today. It is a festival that has a lot of live Christian Rock Bands and there are rides and games and also all the sweet corn you can eat. The corn was so good too, I don't think I have every had corn that good before. The girls went on lots of rides and even played a few games. We watched some entertain-
ment before heading home. We would have stayed later but it was so hot out and we had to go our friend's, Rebecca and PJ's, for a game night later on. We got home and cleaned up and then went over to the party. It was a very busy day and I am exhausted but it was well worth all the fun we had.

Date Night

It was time for the big kids to have a night off. After working all day and then taking a test for my Algebra class for school, Peter and I dropped the girls off at Miss Kim's house and then went to have dinner at Gina's Bar and Grill on Crane's Roost Lake in Altamonte. It was a little rainy out but we enjoyed ourselves and our privacy from the children. Peter had just finished building a bass for a guy and this guy was playing in his band at Gina's so we had live music and Peter got to see his latest creation in action. Peter tried to get a picture without using the flash so you could see the guitars effects but it was too dark to get one that wasn't blurry since we were only using my tiny camera. It was nice to get away for a little while, and we had a very yummy dinner before we headed back to Kim's and then on home again.

Princess Bryanna

As a present for Brye's birthday this year, Miss Kim took her to Disney World with Chris and Ashley this past weekend. They had a great day and Bresa couldn't say enough about how much fun they had. She spent the night two nights in a row at Miss Kim's and then came home the next day. Miss Kim put together this really cool book for Bresa, telling all about the whole day and everything they did and ate. She included pictures and ticket stubs and even pixie dust that was sprinkled on Brye when a "dream maker" made the whole street (tourist and all) sing happy birthday to Bresa. The book is really great and Brye will have it forever.

Abbi stayed home with Daddy and I and we wanted to make sure she had fun too so we decided to take her bowling. She had a great time and actually did really well. Her high game was a 99. Not bad at all for a two year old. :)

Update on Donna

Donna received word today that the cancer has spread, There are numerous tumors on the abdominal wall and in the site where the kidney was removed there is another large mass. The Kidney doctor says there is nothing further he can do for her.
She will see the oncologist on Friday to determine what course of treatment will be best with this new information. It is evident that present treatment is not working.
I thank you all for your prayers. Pleas be assured that they are being answered as Donna's spiritual, emotional, and her determination to fight have not waned a bit. We had our good cry today and will come out swinging.
So please continue to pray for and with her as we move on.

Add On

A couple months ago Peter and I started talking about adding on to our house. We thought long and hard and decided to go for it. We found out last week that all our plans are finalized. It will take a little while but it will be worth it in the end and come January 3rd of next year we will have two feet added to our nursery!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Today was a very special day for many reasons. First of all it's Mother's Day and that is always a great day. Being a mother myself now, I can completely appreciate all the sacrifices my mom gave while raising five children. On another high note, this morning Peter and I got baptized at church. We have wanted to be members for a while now but in order to do that you have to baptized as an adult. We were both baptized as infants but we hadn't been since we became born again believers about 10 years ago. I was really nervous because it is done in front of the entire congre-
gation but we got to go together so that made it a lot easier for me. After church we went to see my mom of course and just hung out and walked the mall until they closed. The girls were treated to ice cream by Grandma and then later for dinner we went to The Cheesecake Factory. It was a great day all around!

Fun all day

This morning I had a softball game and thank goodness there was a breeze out because it was so hot! After the game we had a birthday party to go to for a guy in our life-group. We had a great time swimming and eating and talking and playing before the guys split off to go bowling and left us girls to tend the children and the mess. No bother though, we had a great time and before we knew it was really late. We headed home and prepared for a big day tomorrow.

Another semester over

I had two finals this week and now the semester is finally over. It seemed like it would take forever before the end would come. I hated having my nights all blocked up during the week and then getting home late and having to get up early to go to work. For the summer semester and also the fall semester coming up, all my classes will be online so hopefully that will work out better for me. For this past semester I worked really hard and got straight A's again so I still have a 4.0 for my cumulative GPA. I am not sure how long I can hold on to that but I plan on enjoying it while it lasts.

Update on Donna

Donna's blood levels are still down and the hemoglobin level has dropped significantly. After confirming with the doctor they decided to go ahead with the treatment, Donna was cautioned that if she experienced headache, shortness of breath or chest pain to get to the ER ASAP . It would indicate lack of oxygen going to the brain. So far all is well. Praise the Lord.
We thank you for all your prayers and ask that you continue to remember her in prayer. Ask and you shall receive. Amen

Feminine Appeal

Our church had a Lady's Day from 8-2:30 today. There were several different workshops that you could sign up for and there was time for 5 different ones for each person to take. We were served with a fresh baked breakfast and then a delicious homemade lunch and also a gourmet dessert. The workshops were great and I got a lot out of them. Hopefully the church will make this an annual thing because I really had a great time. Also, out of probably a hundred and fifty or so women there, they gave out three massages and I won one! I was so excited, mine was a foot massage and I just about melted. I really didn't want to put my shoes back on. :) Also at the end of the day each table had one winner take home the center piece and I won that too. I felt bad and offered it to the other ladies but they wanted me to take it home. It was a great day and so nice to be pampered and endulge in God's Word.

Game Night

Yesterday afternoon, our friend Rebecca decided that we needed to have a game night. So she called everyone up and we got ready to have a little gathering at our house. It was going to be a potluck, so everyone had to bring a side to share and Rebecca and her husband PJ brought hamburgers and fried them up on the stove. Peter and I had to go to the church for a meeting at 6:00 and Rebecca was staying with the girls so before we left Abbi helped me make muffins and prep sweet potato fries to cook when we returned. At 7:00 we started the fun. We had a great time and there were only a few of us there but I think that made it even better because it wasn't so chaotic.
